About

NG-MAST (Neisseria gonorrhoeae multi-antigen sequence typing) is a typing scheme for Neisseria gonorrhoeae based on regions of the DNA sequences of the genes encoding the highly variable PorB and TbpB membrane proteins. As with MLST, each unique sequence of each gene fragment is assigned an allele number, and all observed unique combinations of the two alleles is assigned a NG-MAST number.

Pathogenwatch generates in silico assignments using the ngmaster script of, which is available at .
